Our Mission
Careful Minds seeks to serve as a "One-Stop Shop" for all things residential facilities-related. We offer residential certification training, application assistance, consulltation and real estate services.
Whether an individual or group may want to become certified administrators for the purpose of managing or opening a residential facility, Careful Minds offers administrator certification cours in both Adult Residential Facility and Residential Care Facility for the Elderly. Before anyone can get the administrator certificate, the applicant must complete the Initial Certification course. Due to the pandemic of the coronavirus, the Administrator Certification Section, a subsection of the California Department of Social Services has suspended all administrator certification tests. At the current time, applicants can obtain a conditional administrator certificate. This conditional administrator certificate enables the applicant to occupy the role of administrator at a facility as well as apply for the facility license.
Should the applicant seek assistance in applying for the facility license, Careful Minds can produce the plan of operation, part B, of the facility license application. This is the crux of the application for license.
Some facilities face challengescomplying and interpreting the regulation of Title 22. Careful Minds offers consultation and assistance to address non-compliance and preparation for opening.
Ericka Brumfield, Owner of Careful Minds, is a licensed real estae professional, DRE 02020518. Her real estate services involve guiding clients through the process of searching and finding the right property to establish the residential care facility. Ms. Brumfield also helps clients to buy and sell licensed residential facilities.

Instead of granting refunds, Careful Minds offers and honors course credit to any student for classes to be held in the future. That is, should a student miss a class or fail to complete a class, that student may use use the class credit towards any class scheduled in the future. Likewise, should a client pay for application or program design services, he or she may use that payment as a credit towrds any other service offered by Careful Minds.
